Nestled in the heart of Sunnyside Queens, Bliss Vintage & Handmade is a hidden gem tucked away on Bliss Street.

Bliss is a 340 square feet jewel box boutique created and owned by artist Rebecca”Violet” Vicars, Despite its diminutive size, Bliss is overflowing with carefully curated artisanal treats and a revolving array of  vintage treasures.

The artist has put her heart and soul into creating this experiential spot. From the personable Ralph Pucci mannequins to the glittering vintage chandeliers. The shop also has a distinctive aroma that lures you in as it wafts down Bliss street. You will find ever changing delights perched on a pink paisley couch, in vintage birdcages and on copper fixtures made by Violet.

A hidden fitting room is found under the Man in the Moon and inhabited by Violet’s foxes and thistles. It has become a legend with Sunnyside kids as they run in off the street darting back to check out their special hiding spot. Sometimes picking up a magic wand on their way home!

Bliss is a micro-business with a big heart for local, regional and fair-trade artisans. Violet is passionate about sourcing the “best case scenario” products and for her, this means securing the most ethically produced, longest lasting items while striving to balance & serve the price conscious needs of her community.

Embracing the challenges of the 2 feet depth of the Bliss window, Violet endeavors to build intricate, layered displays that convey both playful and meaningful narratives. Her hope is to promote belonging and stir the imaginations and delight of all who encounter them.
